Current Preaching Series: Faith > A Life of Freedom, September - December, 2009
D.A. Carson writes, "The Christian way stresses what God has done rather than what sinners do to bring
about salvation. There can be no improvement on the divine action by any human achievement, by way
of either ritual observance or moral improvement. The cross is the only way of salvation, and no part of
Scripture makes this clearer than does Galatians. 'It is for freedom that Christ has set us free' (Gal. 5:1).
Even those who are justified by faith in Christ sometimes find it easy to subject themselves to the
slavery of a system." We look forward to our growth as our understanding of the freedom that comes
from genuine faith in Christ deepens.

Men's Breakfast: March 20, 2010 8:30 a.m.
What comes to mind when you hear the expression "He's a man's man" or "He's real manly"? John
Wayne? Clint Eastwood? Russell Crowe? Bear Grylls? The Bible gives us a picture of a real man and it
doesn't fit many of our stereotypes.

In the bible we find an accurate picture of what it means to be God's man. It presents a clear job
description for us as men. Here's a hint of that job description: The first thing God mentions about man
is that he is to work! Our culture has led many men to misunderstand what it means to be a godly man.
God's word gives clarity on this issue.

If you are a man and you want to live out your calling of true manliness, as spelled out in Scripture,
don't miss our Men's Breakfast on March 20 at 8:30 a.m. in the Old Parish Hall at Church of the Messiah
in Winter Garden.

**Because breakfast will be provided sign up is essential so we order the correct amount of food - this is
a free event. The last day sign up will be available in the Lobby is Sunday, February 28th. You can also
